The Music curriculum aims is to inspire and excite children by learning through practical musical experiences and exploring a variety of musical genres.
To enable children to think critically about the music that they are exposed to and to develop an awareness of the music’s emotional impact on them, developing emotional literacy, enquiring minds and instilling in children a love of music.
At Swan Lane First School we follow The Charanga Musical School Scheme. It provides teachers with week-by-week lesson support for each year group in the school. It is ideal for specialist and non-specialist teachers and provides lesson plans, assessment, clear progression, and engaging and exciting whiteboard resources to support every lesson. The Scheme supports all the requirements of the national curriculum.
